CropVIEW®

Remote field and crop monitoring

Your field circumstances, crop condition and fruit growth under full remote control – using state of the art optical camera system supported with artificial intelligence software

With the inspiration of helping the farmer to grow his crop in the optimal and most healthy way, Pessl Instruments GmbH, developed optical high-resolution camera system, together with a computer vision software which is able to recognize objects from the photo (first solution is made for apple fruit recognition). Optical high-resolution camera system is installed in the field to remotely monitor field, crop or fruit. All of the photos and data from computer vision software is displayed online, on a web portal called FieldClimate.

REMOTE MONITORING OF FIELD, CROP AND FRUIT SAVES TIME AND OPTIMIZES USE OF RESOURCES – PRODUCING MORE WITH LESS

The CropVIEW®, is a camera system with integrated electronics (camera, modem, power source with solar panel). It can be installed wherever in the field needed. In the field, the device is self-sufficient, as it is powered by a solar panel and a battery. 10 MP camera takes high-resolution pictures of your field, crop or fruit. Images are sent via mobile network to the FieldClimate.com platform where they are analyzed with automatic detection of fruits (for apples only). The results are then visible on web or mobile devices. As a result, we see a photo with recognized fruits (apple only) as well as measurements of fruit diameters (apple only). Control is real-time and the collected data can be used for further analysis.

HOW MANY STATIONS TO INSTALL?

When installing CropVIEW® station you need to take into consideration the sun position – make sure that your device is not facing directly to the sun, at the time that photos are taken. How many stations will be installed, needs to be decided by the local personnel on farm. It can be one device per growing site, or also more devices per growing site (e.g.: if there are different varieties at the growing site and monitoring of all is wanted).

Insect monitoring

All inhabitants of your field under full control – using state of the art optical camera system supported with artificial intelligence software

With the inspiration of helping the farmer to grow his crop in the optimal and most healthy way, Pessl Instruments GmbH, developed an optical high-resolution camera system, together with a computer vision software which is able to recognize insects from the photo. Optical high-resolution camera system is embedded inside insect trap, to remotely monitor insect pressure at fields. We provide different types of traps, to cover a broad spectrum of insect species. All of the photos and data from computer vision software is displayed online, on a web portal called FieldClimate.

iSCOUT® TYPES

iSCOUT® Pheromone

Designed and developed to catch insects with insect specific pheromone lure (codling moth, european grape berry moth, tomato leafminer and many other species). It includes a metal plate on which sticky paper and a pheromone lure can be applied.

Helicoverpa armigera – cotton bollworm caught with the iSCOUT® Pheromone

iSCOUT® Fruit Fly

Designed and developed for catching fruit flies (spotted wing drosophila suzukii, olive fruit fly). Includes 3 mm nettings on entries, so that bigger flies (house flies) and other non targets are not able to enter the trap. Tank for feeding lure and metal plate with sticky paper are included. If you want to catch and monitor bigger flies, you can remove nettings from the entries.

Drosophila suzukii – spotted wing drosophila caught with use of iSCOUT® Fruit Fly

iSCOUT® Bug

Designed and developed for catching bugs (marmorated stink bug halyomorpha halys and other species). Includes bottom entry with landing platform – pyramid trap and closed side entries. Once the bug enters the trap, it can no longer exit and gets caught on a sticky paper. For cathcing h. halys aggregation pheromones are placed inside the trap.

Halyomorpha halys– brown marmorated stink bug caught with use of iSCOUT® Bug

iSCOUT® Color Trap

Designed and developed for monitoring insects, which get attracted by colored sticky traps. Catching various insects depending on the color of sticky plate used:
• blue: frankliniella occidentalis, thrips tabaci, …
• yellow: white flies, leafminers, sciarid flies, …
• white: apple sawfly, plum sawfly, plum fruit sawfly, raspberry beetle, …

Diabrotica virgifera – western corn rootworm caught with use of iSCOUT® Color Trap

FenceAlarm

Monitor activities on your fences

FenceAlarm monitors your fences and immediately sends a message to your phone should the voltage drop. That way, you can feel confident knowing that your fences always keep the animals inside.

FenceAlarm is an electric fence monitor that alerts you immediately if the voltage drops which means you can act quickly and avoid the animals from escaping.

With FenceAlarm each farm saves on average 50 hours per year which makes it a good investment. But the best thing about FenceAlarm is that you can keep calm and be sure that the animals are kept in the pasture. FenceAlarm notifies you through an app (My.Luda.Farm) if the voltage in your fence would drop. With Alarm+ (optional), you will receive an alarm immediately in case the voltage drops in addition to a convenient voltage graph to help you determine whether the voltage drop is due to animals or shrubs/rain. FenceAlarm can be used everywhere where there is GSM coverage. The app is available for Android, Mac, IOS, and Windows. 3 year warranty.

A chance to solve the problem before the animals escape

“I have tried a fence guard! A device that keeps track of the current on the animals’ fences. What a great sence of security! I’m often alone at home with three small children and worrying about animals escaping is really stressful! With “Smart Farming” you have an app in your phone that is connected to the product/products you have on your farm and you will receive notifications if something happens! If, for example, the power on our fence should drop you will get an alarm in the phone – how great is that? It gives me a chance to solve the problem before the animals escapes.

Paulina West “

This is How it Works

1. FenceAlarm can be connected at any point on your existing fence. The unit can be powered for 2 months with the rechargeable battery, or it can be constantly supplied with 220 V or 12 V.

2. The voltage is measured by connecting the red fence clamp to the fence and the green ground clamp to the ground pin.

3. The voltage level of the fence is sent to My.Luda.Farm through the built-in SIM card, which always selects the operator with the strongest signal (i.e. operator-independent). You can check the fence status on your mobile whenever your want without having to physically visit the fence in the field to measure the voltage. Alarm+ warns you immediately if the fence voltage drops and it also gives you access to the handy Fence Voltage Graph™
